I Thought it would be good to share with everyone what has been happening in our state on the activist front.
This past weekend, Nov. 6th - 8th, in Oconomowoc, there was the largest conference of liberty minded groups from around Wisconsin. By my estimate there was in the neighborhood of 50 groups, and around 100 people, from around the state that met to begin working together in an efforts to take back our state and help take back our country.
The first thing that was talked about, and the most exciting, was the convening of the Continental Congress (this is NOT a constitutional convention). There is elected delegates from 49 states, including Wisconsin. They asked that the delegates be well versed in the constitution and well know in their communities. The goal of the Continental Congress is to address the Federal and State governments continual assault on liberty and to form a recommendation for the People of all the States to act upon. There are meeting November 11th through the 22nd in St. Charles Illinois. The Convention is open to public viewing as well they are streaming the event live on www.wethepeoplefoundation.org. As well they have daily updates posted there.
The second thing that happened was all the groups, that were represented in Oconomowoc, met for a large part of the day on Saturday (Nov. 7). Our discussion was around building a better means of communicating between ourselves, working together, sharing knowledge, vetting candidates for 2010 and supporting the best of them and forming some initial treads of collaborating on some state initiatives. One of the initiatives that has just been started is a bill to keep the Citizen of Wisconsin out of the nation health care and from paying taxes for it. Once the bill is finalized we all hope to begin working together to force its passage in the State Assembly and Senate.
There was so much that happened there it is hard to remember it all. And beyond all that was discussed, I was able to meet 2 very good candidates. One was David King he running for Secretary of State. And the second was Mike Krsiean who is run to replace Ron Kind in Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District.
A final note that all should be aware of is that there is tentative plans for another conference, in at most a few months.
